ASL Learning
So I recently started taking classes at CCP. When I first applied for this program, I chose Psychology as my first option & ASL (American Sign Language) as my second. I wanted to take the psychology class because I wanted a head start for the ap class I'm taking in school. And for ASL, I was pretty interested in it since my school have deaf students and I'm friends with most of them. I really wanted to communicate and interact with them and take a part in their community.

I had a summer orientation on Monday (6/6/15), and classes started the next day. I learned the alphabet on the first day along with cardinal numbers. Then the basics on 6/7-6/9. There were only about 14 people in my class & they were all really friendly. But, the instructor is real strict on the talking. It is mandatory that you don't talk, or you will have to go stand outside for 5 minutes. ;-; A student was punished for just talking a little.

I didn't realize I was signed up in a program when we had the summer orientation. So as it turns out, this whole thing was an internship. Yeah, we get paid for taking the class. And we get free books that the class needs us to have + day passes. If we pass the class, we get college credits AND money. What a great deal.

The classes are on Monday-Thursday, but I have to go to a workshop on Fridays with my internship program, which is basically study hall for 3 hours.
